One thing I continue to be amazed by day after day is the amount of undiscovered talent flying under the radar in the state of Florida. It’s something that has always been around and will continue but nonetheless is something that is truly shocking. Paul Barton from Lehigh HS is no exception to this. At 6’3″ and 240 pounds the class of 2020 DE told me he’s aware of the process and is hoping that his fast, physical, and aggressive style of play will be enough to catch the attention of the right person. If you ask me it’s as easy as looking up his tape and watching for yourself. If you do you’ll see a big, strong defensive lineman with surprising speed , quickness, and overall athletic ability.
Barton doesn’t hold any offers at this point but is taking some steps to change that. He is having some contact with a few schools such as Nebraska, Louisville, and Arkansas and has camped at UGA and also visited Miami last weekend. He’s hoping that and a big season coming up as well as his commitment to getting stronger in the weight room will help to open the door and start adding up those offers.
As far as his visit to Miami Barton told me it went well and he loved the environment there and he would love a return visit. He mentioned how much he enjoyed the coaching staff there and lists the Canes as a program he’d like to build a relationship with as well as Clemson and UNC.
