Baker visited the University of Miami this weekend and walked away with an offer from the Hurricanes, but that’s not a surprise from his coaches and friends that know him and how hard he works. He stated “The visit was great the coaches and players showed me great love.” Sounded like the visit couldn’t have went any better for the Fort Myers prospect, and seems like the Hurricanes want to bring Baker in as an offensive tackle.
Meeting with coach Barry and Coach Fields, seems to be his favorite part of the visit. Baker could come in and play offensive tackle or tight end, and at 6’7 he could be a lethal weapon for the staff. A visit back to Miami will be in the works, but a commitment isn’t on the horizon yet.
Baker felt the difference in the new environment and energy from the coaching staff, as he responded “it was very exciting the coaches and staff that coach Diaz has brought in has really created some buzz in Miami and it’s very exciting.” For the season, he wants to see how the Hurricanes use the pieces they have, but hopes they do very well this year.
